S.L.A.G.A. is
dedicated to serving our community by providing a valuable service. Our
community is growing rapidly. With this growth, we have the need for an
association that can represent the Sri lankan community living in
Austin and surrounding areas. As a community will be able to accomplish
more, and have a larger impact upon our community. We welcome you with
open arms. Please inquire today about how you can become a part of our
efforts to bring this community together. We are always looking for
community-based volunteers as well. Volunteers aid the community in
various ways.
Why we formed this Association:

To contact people swiftly to inform them of events, emergencies, deaths, etc.Internet / E-mail is a fast and efficient medium.

- To have a central point for dissemination of information or for news media needing information about Sri Lankan community. Eg: during the Tsunami disaster.

- To provide input as a community in the Asian American Resource Center proposed by the Network of Asian American Organizations (NAAO) with a completion date of 2012.

- To collect and archive information about the Sri Lankan community in Austin, Texas and greater Austin area.

- To recognize the efforts/accomplishments of Key Sri Lankans in our community including those who are in the artistics, business,medical, leagal, technological, educational and sports proffessions.

- To provide an organization that can assist students from Sri Lanka who attends UT, ACC, etc. And welcome them to our community.
